Uros’ floating isle

We are welcomed, dancing on the water, by kind families who love to share their lifestyle. The Uros, proud of their traditions who live in huts cradled by intertwined rushes’ islands in Titicaca’s lake. The feeling is the same as walking on the bed, while rocking on the water, they explain us the constant maintenance of their island and their simple lifestyle. A matriarchal people with a village’s chief who is proud to represent her people: her power is recognized,at the entrance to the village, by the jewel she wears in her right hand, similar to St. Peter’s key ring. People who express dignity, kindness and availability, in the typical Peruvian colors, will only leave an unforgettable memory for tranquility, availability and sharing of an inexplicable lifestyle for us but certainly more calm.

Ustica – Marine Natural Reserve

My island! You’ll come in contact with the innermost part of yourself. Ustica the volcanic and realistic that will allow you to forget the hectic world of cities. Here everything is on a human scale. The peace and warmth of the inhabitants will forgive you about the social world: on the other hand, the landscape, everywhere, is so spectacular that you cannot get lost in technology, except by immortalize sunsets that you won’t see anywhere. The sea’s purity and color is so indescribable: a paradise for diving and snorkeling.

Doha

The two worlds’ town : here Arab tradition and Western lifestyle coexist peacefully. The Qataris live in wealth thanks to the enlightened emir who doesn’t require the payment of gas, electricity and water, free health and education at high levels, with high salaries in the public administration. But this liberalism is strictly reserved for the Qatari people to protect their identity: men who wear the thowb and the ghetra of a blinding white without any crease and women who wear the abaya with underwear designer accessories and cosmetics that are the envy of Western women : pay attention, contrary to popular belief, wearing the abaya does not mean that they are submissive to their husbands but rather they are free and above all very respected by men: they smoke shisha and go out with friends but the beauty is to see gallant men placing to seat their woman at the table. The only negative note: no alcohol, except on the top floor of the Radisson in The Library bar ... bring your passport.

Himeji Castle – Unesco’s World Heritage Site

A huge graceful white heron perches on a mighty wall. Thus the wooden military castle allows a dominant view over the whole valley, with its 7 floors, to be visited strictly barefoot : the vision of the infinite of a traditional Japan landscape, where on the top floor you are delighted by the sound of the bell of a small shinto shrine with kami. Everything has been designed with a view to protect and combat: on the third floor large windows, in case of attack, allow the smoke to escape and to reach, with stairs, the exit. The Kokoen garden, built to commemorate the centenary for the foundation of Himeji’s municipality, concludes the immersion in the truest Japan: waterfalls that flow into the pond and the Souju-an to taste a good green tea and delight in the landscape, meticulously studied, while large carps glide silently amid the song of crickets.
